GBM-Master prize 2020 for Joost Lülf

Comparison of the two possible successions of the reaction steps demethylation and hydroxylation of (R)-ketamine, resulting, for example, in (2R,4S)-hydroxynorketamine. The formation of norketamine is preferred, the demethylation of the hydroxyketamine is low.

In December 2020 Joost Lülf from our group received the master prize of the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM), Germany, for the achievements during his study and the excellent master thesis. The GBM awards this annual prize to outstanding graduates in biochemistry or related disciplines like molecular biology and molecular medicine.

In his master thesis, Joost dealt with the enzymatic production of ketamine metabolites. We congratulate Joost warmly and wish him further success in the future!
